About the library

Christian Ministry Institute Librarywas established in December 1997. At first, it was set up inside a container located at the Institute’s old premises in Ngau Tam Mei in the New Territories. It was then gradually extended to the living area of the second floor of the main building. In September 2001, the library was relocated together with the Institute to its present place on the seventh floor of Citimark in Siu Lek Yuen, Shatin. With an occupied area of about 2,800 sq.ft., the library entered into a modernized era. In 2001, a new automated library system was installed to link up the Library Catalogue, Circulation, and Public Online Searching. Both of the on-site and off-site users can make use of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) to conduct online collection information and circulation searching, renewing and reserving of library materials through title, author, theme or key words options. Nowadays, we upgraded our library management system in order to improve the library operation.

The library collection has Chinese books, English books, periodicals and magazines available either in printed or electronic editions, and some audio-visual materials are also available. Facilities including 30 seats for study and a number of computers for searching bible information and books and Internet access are provided for users.
